Yext has announced that Laurie "LC" Cook has accepted the challenge of being the AI search company’s first-ever VP of Public Sector.

Her new role places her in charge of building out an arm of Yext's sales organization that will focus on securing contracts with federal, state, and local government agencies in the US.

In a press release Yext Co-Founder, President, and COO Brian Distelburger, praised Cook’s unmatched energy, deep industry knowledge, as well as her appreciation for the impact that AI search technology can have. He added that those attributes will be “critical to our success in serving the public sector."

Before Yext, Cook was the VP of Public Sector at enterprise intelligent automation company Blue Prism. Additionally, throughout her more than 20-year career she also spent time at SAS Institute as Federal Civilian Sales Account Director and served as the Manager of Federal Civilian Sales for data mining platform provider LexisNexis.

"Yext has laid a solid foundation in the public sector, having built impressive trust and credibility helping the WHO and U.S. State Department deliver accurate COVID-related information during the pandemic," Cook said. "I'm looking forward to building on that foundation and building out a team dedicated to bringing out the full potential of Yext's AI search platform in a sector where it can truly make an impact."

Yext has grown quickly in 2021 adding both new executives and board members, like former NBA player and Miami Heat executive Shane Battier.
