Derek Anderson

Derek Anderson has worked in various financial planning and analysis roles throughout their career. Derek started as a Marketing and Product Management Intern at Guidant Cardiac Rhythm Management in 1997. Derek then worked in New Business Development at Sanyo from 1998 to 2000, where they launched an e-commerce store and managed manufacturing relationships. Anderson joined Compaq as a Business Analyst Intern and MBA Consulting Project Team Lead in 2001. Derek later moved to Payless ShoeSource as a Senior Financial Analyst and Senior International Business Analyst, where they launched joint ventures in Japan and Colombia. From 2006 to 2010, Anderson served as the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Collective Brands, where they led financial modeling and analysis for acquisitions and managed financial planning and forecasting. Anderson then worked at WhiteWave Foods as the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, where they developed strategic and financial initiatives for the Silk brand, and later became the Brand Finance Manager, doubling sales and profit growth. Currently, Anderson is the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at 1-800 CONTACTS, where they lead business analytics and planning and manages the FP&A team.

Derek Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Utah in 1997, with a minor in Japanese. Derek then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance and International Management from Brigham Young University, completing it between 2000 and 2002. Additionally, Derek has obtained certifications in "Leading Through Personal Excellence" from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and in "Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis Professional (FP&A)" from the Association for Financial Professionals.
