Jordan Born

General Counsel & President, Reverse at 1031 CORP

Jordan is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has worked primarily in real estate law since obtaining his J.D. in 2005 and LL.M. in Commercial Real Estate Law in 2006 from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. Prior to working as General Counsel of 1031 CORP. and President of Reverse 1031 CORP., Jordan was in private practice where he advised and represented individuals, business entities, lenders, borrowers, landlords, and tenants in all matters related to commercial and residential real estate, corporate law, and civil commercial litigation. He also served as national commercial counsel for a large title company and senior director for an exchange accommodator concentrating on facilitating safe harbor and non-safe harbor reverse exchanges as well as those involving property construction or improvements pursuant to IRC Section 1031.

Jordan frequently speaks to groups and presents webinars to audiences interested in tax-deferred exchanges, and is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association (Real Property Law & Real Estate Taxation Committees), Illinois Real Estate Alumni Forum, Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association (Real Estate Law Section), and Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (Ethics Committee Chair, Education Committee & Government Affairs Committee) and the Jewish Council for Youth Services (Board Designate, Finance Committee & Scholarship Committee).
