Antony Butterfield

Antony (Tony) Butterfield is a seasoned software engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in developing distributed systems and network technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Neo4j since May 2021, Tony focuses on high-performance SaaS platforms with an emphasis on scalability and performance optimization. As the Founder and Audio Software Developer for Tsuga Audio, Tony has created innovative audio plugins and VSTs for music production. Tony also founded 1060 Research, where significant contributions include the invention of micro-services and resource-oriented computing. Previous roles span notable companies like Hewlett Packard Labs, Component Group, Thames Water, and JP Morgan, showcasing diverse expertise in software development and architecture since starting in the industry in 1993. Tony holds a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Warwick.
