Joe Tolar

Joe Tolar, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Sales Associate at 10x Genomics since September 2023. Prior experience includes a role as Technical Account Manager at LevitasBio, where responsibilities involved sales of instruments, services, and consumables while maintaining existing accounts and achieving sales goals. Joe also worked as a Graduate Researcher at Rice University from June 2018 to December 2022, conducting significant research on extracellular electron transfer in Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and contributing to project management and grant writing. Early roles included a Laboratory Assistant at Harding University, where Joe taught genetic and physiological mechanisms, and an Undergraduate Researcher at Pepperdine University, focusing on stress-responsive programs in eukaryotic cells. Joe holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Harding University.
