Steven Short

Steven Short currently serves as the Vice President of Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Head of Manufacturing Systems at 10x Genomics, a position held since May 2014. Prior to this role, Steven was the Vice President of Engineering at Berkeley Lights, Inc., where efforts focused on early-stage product development for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries from December 2012 to May 2014. At Illumina, between April 2007 and December 2012, Steven held several engineering leadership positions including Director of Engineering, where work concentrated on live cell capture technology for IVD oncology and prenatal diagnostics, and Associate Director of Engineering, serving as the design architect for the cBot instrument. Earlier in Steven's career, roles included Systems Engineering Manager at KLA-Tencor from January 1998 to April 2007 and Applications Engineer at Millipore from June 1995 to December 1997. Steven holds an MS and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Notre Dame and a BS in Physics from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
