Katherine Beam is an experienced architectural designer currently serving as an Associate at 1100 Architect since November 2018. Katherine's professional journey includes a study abroad program at Virginia Tech in early 2017, enhancing skills in design while traveling through several European countries. Prior experience includes internships at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP in Chicago, where Katherine developed studio projects, and at Carmax, focusing on improving communication between design and construction teams. Additionally, Katherine held a summer internship at Columbia University, supporting high school students and teaching architectural design. Katherine earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech and completed secondary education at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies.
