Vernon Benjamin

Vernon Benjamin is an experienced compliance and internal audit professional with a strong background in healthcare and financial organizations. Currently serving as the Compliance Audit Senior Manager at 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds since March 2015, Vernon assists the Compliance Director in managing risk-based Internal Audit and Internal Control Audit Plans. Prior to this role, Vernon held various positions including Internal Auditor at CarePoint Health System and Director of Internal Audit at multiple healthcare institutions, where significant revenue capture and cost reductions were achieved through comprehensive auditing strategies. Vernon began a career in auditing in 1983 and has developed extensive expertise in establishing audit departments, conducting audits across operational, financial, and clinical areas, and crafting strategies to navigate changes in the healthcare environment. Vernon holds a B.S. in Accounting from Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
