Dana Alas has extensive experience in labor organizing and political advocacy, currently serving as Organizing Director and Regional Political Director at 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East since October 2010. Previously, Dana held the position of Lead Organizer at 1199 SEIU from January 2005 to January 2007, and worked as an intern at the Working Families Party in June 2001. Dana holds a Bachelor of Science in Labor and Industrial Relations from Cornell University, obtained between 1998 and 2002, and graduated with a Regents diploma from Stuyvesant High School in 1998.
