Carol Fowler

Carol Fowler has a wealth of experience in the media industry, with a focus on content strategy and news leadership. Carol currently holds the position of Director of Content at 11Alive since December 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Content at KSDK - 5 On Your Side from August 2019 to December 2023, where they were responsible for the product vision, hiring, and content strategy. Carol has also worked as a Co Facilitator at The Poynter Institute from February 2019 to September 2019, and as an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University Medill School from September 2016 to August 2019. In addition, they held senior positions at Chicago Sun-Times, KloboMedia, PowerReviews (formerly Viewpoints), Fox Television Stations, WBBM-TV (CBS 2 Chicago), and WGN-TV, where they held various roles in news leadership and management.

Carol Fowler has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Carol is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Leadership and Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
