Katya Lamy

Katya Lamy is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in digital storytelling, social media management, and strategic communications. Currently serving as the Communications & Marketing Officer at 1625 Independent People since July 2025, Katya has previously worked as a Communications & Social Media Specialist at Movement On The Ground from November 2023 to April 2025, where responsibilities included enhancing refugee narratives and spearheading digital campaigns. Additional roles have included academic consultancy at Samsung Electronics and Overstekend Wild, as well as positions in internal communications and community hosting at The Social Hub. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Leiden University, complemented by minors in Psychology and Communications from Bentley University and Economics from Utrecht University.
