Andrew MacConnell is a DNA encoded library pioneer and analytical systems development specialist. They served as the CTO and co-founder of 1859 from 2019 to 2023, where they contributed to therapeutic discovery. Prior to this, they developed microfluidic high throughput screening platforms as a graduate student at The Scripps Research Institute from 2011 to 2017, and were a research scientist and co-founder at Plexium from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they are a co-founder and scientific fellow at 1859 and serve as the Chief Integration Officer at SpectralTx Inc. Andrew holds a PhD in Chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute and both a B.S. and M.S. in Physics and Chemistry from Furman University.
