Andrey Solomykin

Andrey Solomykin has extensive work experience in the field of flight physics and game development. Andrey started their career as a Design Engineer at Sukhoi Company, where they worked from 1996 to 1998. After that, they worked as a Senior Manager and Sales Department Coordinator at ROLF from 1998 to 2001. From 2000 to 2001, they were a Flight Model Developer at Captain Sim, where they developed a realistic flight model for the L-39 Albatross Jet Trainer.

In 2001, Andrey joined Eagle Dynamics as a Senior Researcher and Software Engineer. Andrey was responsible for developing the Advanced Flight Model (AFM) for the "LockOn" series of PC game flight simulators. Andrey also worked on the flight model and systems/equipment models of the Su-25/Su-25T attack aircraft for "LockOn: Flaming Cliffs".

From 2005 to 2012, Andrey worked at Neoqb Ltd as a Lead Principal Software Engineer. Andrey developed a real-time flight physics engine with highly detailed aerodynamics, flight dynamics, and aircraft systems models. Andrey also managed a team of two junior software engineers and worked on flight models and aircraft systems/equipment models for over 20 different aircraft.

Andrey then moved to 1C Game Studios in 2012, where they took on the role of Lead Principal Software Engineer. Andrey continued to work on the real-time flight physics engine, advancing its aerodynamics and flight dynamics core. Andrey also created detailed models of various airplane systems and equipment, improved engine and propeller control systems, and created aircraft and engine damage models.

Currently, Andrey is employed at Asobo Studio as a Senior Gameplay Programmer, starting in 2022.

Andrey Solomykin received their Master's degree in aircraft flight dynamics and flight control from Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University) in 1996. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications such as CodinGame Certification - C++ from CodinGame, Aircraft Flight Instructor, and Private Aircraft Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration. Andrey also holds a Diploma in Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) obtained in 2001.
