Tamiko Masuda

Tamiko Masuda has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Tamiko started their career as a Research Assistant at E-One Moli Energy (Canada) Limited in 2010. Following that, they worked as a Research Assistant at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in 2011, where they integrated a commercial Fabry-Perot interferometer into an optics setup and developed a LabView GUI.

In 2012, Tamiko served as a Research Assistant at Dalhousie University, where they investigated cobalt sulfide as a counter electrode material in dye-sensitized solar cells. Tamiko also developed an apparatus and procedure for electroplating indium tin oxide substrates.

In 2013, they worked as a Geophysics Summer Student at Legacy Oil + Gas Inc., where they generated models from well and seismic data to analyze the relationship between model parameters and geological layer properties. Tamiko collaborated with geologists and presented their findings to executive management. In the same year, Tamiko also served as a Tutor at the Academy for Mathematics and Science.

In 2014, Tamiko worked as an English Teacher at Berlitz Colombia, where they taught English classes to a diverse range of students in varying environments including companies, Berlitz centers, and a military base.

From 2015 to 2018, they worked at the University of Calgary in various roles. As a Graduate Research Assistant, Tamiko focused on fiber-taper collected photoluminescence characterization of diamond microdisks. Tamiko completed a thesis on this topic and presented their work at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) in 2017. Tamiko also served as a Teaching Assistant, where they developed in-class assignment problems and provided assistance to undergraduate students.

In 2018, Tamiko joined Universal Quantum Devices Inc. as a Business Development Specialist, where they worked until 2019. In this role, they contributed to the company's business development efforts.

Most recently, Tamiko has been working at 1QBit as a Technical Business Analyst since November 2019.

Tamiko Masuda obtained their Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Physics from The University of British Columbia, where they studied from 2008 to 2013. After completing their undergraduate studies, they attended the International TEFL Academy in 2013 to focus on TEFL/TESOL education. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Physics at the University of Calgary from 2015 to 2018.
