Darren Maher

Darren Maher has over two decades of experience in product and technology development, as well as marketing and communications. Darren currently serves as the Group Development and Communications Manager at 21st Century, overseeing development of new products and technologies across the group. Their primary functions include day-to-day management of the Software Development and Software Support teams, in addition to managing all Group communications, both to the market and investor relations.

Before joining 21st Century, Darren spent two years at Journeo PLC as their Group Development and Communications Manager. There they were responsible for leading development of new products and services for the Group (21st Century Fleet Systems Ltd and 21st Century Passenger Systems Ltd), in addition to managing a team of 7 Software Developers and a team of 3 Software Support Technicians. Darren also successfully delivered all development projects on time and within budget while developing product and service strategy for the Group.

In their previous role, Darren was also responsible for Communication responsibilities such as:- Managing the Marketing and Communications team,- developing the marketing and communications strategy for an AIM listed plc and sub-brands across different media channels to reach multiple stakeholders,- controlling and allocating the marketing budget,- managing relationships with domain specialists both internal and external,- writing articles for trade press and the company website; and,- organising all trade shows and company events.

Thanks to their wealth of experience and successful track record, Darren has been instrumental in 21st Century’s recent success. Under

Darren Maher attended Warlingham Secondary School before studying sociology with criminology at the University of Sunderland. Darren then went on to earn their bachelor's degree from the same school.

Darren Maher works with Andy Houghton - Chief Technical Officer, Kim Bradley - Group Projects Manager, and Steve Kesterton - Group Operations Manager. Their manager is Russ Singleton, Chief Executive.
