Barry Shean

Barry Shean is a seasoned metallurgist with extensive experience in the mining and metallurgy sector. Currently serving as Principal Metallurgist - Group at 29Metals since July 2021, Barry oversees the Metallurgy department at Capricorn Copper Mine. Prior roles include Chief Metallurgist at Heron Resources Limited, Operations Superintendent and Senior Metallurgist at Nyrstar, and various roles in process metallurgy at Xstrata Zinc. Barry's career also includes a PhD in Flotation Control from Imperial College London and experience as a plant metallurgist at Anglo American. Expertise encompasses copper refining, water treatment, and the development of mineral processing technologies.
