Lucas began their career in 2002 at Potomac Energy Group, Inc. where they served as an Associate Principal and Project Manager. In this role, they successfully managed various projects until June 2016.

In 2016, Lucas joined 2RW Consultants, Inc. as the Managing Director, Design - DC Metro. Lucas played a key role in overseeing design projects in the DC Metro area and contributed significantly to the company's success. In March 2021, Lucas was promoted to Associate Principal, showcasing their leadership abilities and expertise.
