Dave Armon has had a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. In 1977, they started working as a traffic reporter at WAXC-AM at the young age of 14. Dave recruited and managed a network of volunteer CB radio operators to gather real-time traffic information for daily reports. Dave then moved on to WHAM/WHFM, where they continued as a traffic reporter, compiling and delivering morning and afternoon drive traffic reports with the help of in-traffic reporters.
In 1979, Armon worked as an ice cream vendor at Skippy Ice Cream, delivering happiness to kids and adults with a sweet tooth. Dave toured around Rochester in a Skippy truck, ringing a 10-inch brass bell to announce their arrival.
Armon joined United Press International (UPI) as a Bureau Manager in 1983. Dave then worked at Rumrill Hoyt (Saatchi & Saatchi) in 1988 as an Account Executive.
Armon's tenure at PR Newswire, starting in 1989, included various roles such as Cleveland Bureau Manager, Midwest Sales Manager, Vice President of the Midwest Region, and eventually the President of PR Newswire Americas. During their time there, they secured leadership positions in Cleveland, Detroit, and Minneapolis, successfully defended against low-cost rivals, and integrated the dominant Chicago newswire business into PR Newswire. Dave served as the COO from 2004 to 2008.
In 2011, Armon became the President of Critical Mention, a software provider that expanded beyond its legacy as a U.S. broadcast monitoring company. Under their leadership, a new analytics-packed SaaS listening platform was introduced, capturing social and mainstream media content for brands and their agencies.
Since 2014, Armon has been with 3BL Media, initially serving as a Non-Executive Director. Dave then became the Chief Marketing Officer, establishing the first dedicated marketing function within the organization. Currently, Armon holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at 3BL Media, the leading communications partner for purpose-driven organizations, connecting them with a passionate audience through content distribution and multimedia promotion.
Dave Armon attended Utica College of Syracuse University from 1980 to 1983, where they pursued their Bachelors degree in Journalism.
