Prior to that, Tom worked at TD as an Information Technology Specialist and later as an Information Technology Consultant, focusing on data integration projects. Tom also has experience as a Technical Project Manager at Gulf House Medical Systems WLL, where they successfully implemented IT solutions to enhance the organization's profitability and digital competency. Tom's previous roles include Project Coordinator/Business Systems Analyst at C0nfident and Senior System Engineer - Product Development at Siemens Technology India. Tom began their career as a Software Engineer at Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd, where they designed and developed key features and test tools. Tom earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology, which they attended from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Technical Higher Secondary Examination with a focus on Electronics at Technical Higher Secondary School Puthuppally from 1995 to 2000.

In recent years, Tom has pursued further education in the field of data science. Tom attended Ryerson University from 2016 to 2017, where they earned a degree in Data Science. Tom'sstudies at Ryerson University encompassed data analytics, big data, and predictive analytics.

In addition to their formal education, Tom Oommen has obtained several certifications.
