Susan Bankowski

Girls Programs Manager and Coach at 3d Lacrosse

Susan Bankowski has a diverse work experience across various organizations. Susan started their career in 1997 as a Program Coordinator at Arlington County Department of Public Health. Susan went on to work as an Assistant Director at Campaign for our Children (CFOC) from 1998 to 2000. Susan then served as the Director of Governor's Council on the Status of Girls at the Maryland Commission for Women from 2000 to 2002.

In 2003, Susan joined the World Health Organization as a Legal Intern in the Tobacco Free Initiative. Susan also worked as a Research Regulations Specialist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health during the same year. From 2004 to 2004, they served as a Legal Analyst for the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (TFI) at the World Health Organization.

Susan's work at OHSU began in 2005, where they initially served as an IRB Co-Chair before becoming the IRB Chair, Co-Chair, Embryonic Stem Cell Research Committee, and Director of CTSA Research Ethics from 2006 to 2012. In 2013, they joined Genetic Alliance as the IRB Chair, a position they held until 2014.

Currently, Susan works as the Girls Programs Manager and Coach at 3d Lacrosse since 2014.

Susan Bankowski has a strong educational background with degrees in law, public health, and natural sciences. Susan attended the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law from 2000 to 2003 and obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree with a Certificate in Health Law. Prior to their law studies, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) at the Harvard School of Public Health from 1995 to 1997, specializing in Maternal and Child Health. Susan received their initial undergraduate education at The Johns Hopkins University from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). Susan'smajor field of study during this time was Public Health and Natural Sciences. Before their college years, Susan attended Western Reserve Academy from 1984 to 1989. Unfortunately, no degree information is available for their time at Western Reserve Academy. Finally, Susan completed their primary education at Hudson Public Schools in Ohio from 1975 to 1984.
