Juan Pelaez

Juan Pelaez has over 18 years of work experience. In 2019, they began working as the CTO of 23blocks. From 2008 to 2019, they worked as CTO at 3Metas. Digital Strategy Company, where they were accountable for budgets, cost and quality related with projects, products and services delivered. Additionally, in 2019 they became the Chair of the Board of Directors and a Board Member at Intercambio Uniting Communities. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Tech Master and .Net Architect at Globant, where they were responsible for driving a team through the complete life cycle of a software project. During this time, they also provided training and research of new technologies. From 2013 to 2008, they were an Instructor for MS Certification Courses at Intelligent Training Colombia S.A. Juan was an Implementation Manager at Studiocom Inc (a WPP company) from 2008 to 2008 and a Developer Evangelist at Microsoft from 2008 to 2003. Lastly, from 2003 to 2001, they were CTO at Gattaca S.A., where they were responsible for product design, development and design process improvement, QA certifications, PMO office supervision and coordination with sales and pre-sales department. Juan also worked as a Developer at Intercom from 2001 to 2008, where they were responsible for design, development and implementation of Internet applications and transactional systems connected to distributed and heterogeneous database systems.

Juan Pelaez attended Colegio Antonio Nariño from 1986 to 1991, where they earned a High School degree. Juan then attended Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 1996 to 1999. In addition to their education, Juan has obtained various certifications, including a Venture Deals certification from Kauffman Fellows & TechStars in 2021, a Microsoft Certified Trainer certification from Microsoft in 2016, a Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft in 2014, a Sitecore CMS Certified Developer certification in 2008, a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification from Microsoft in 2007, an Internal Quality Management System (QMS) Auditor certification from Bureau Veritas in 2006, an Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI in 2004, and a Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certification from the American Heart Association in 2020.
