Dave (Dizzy) Smith

Dave Smith, also known as Dizzy Smith, has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Dave (Dizzy) is currently the Co-Founder and CTO of 3rd Eye Robotics since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the VP of Engineering at Edge & Node from March 2022 to December 2022. Before that, they held the position of VP of Engineering - Equinix Metal at Equinix from March 2020 to February 2022. Dave (Dizzy) was also the VP of Engineering at Packet from July 2019 to March 2020, where they played a key role in building and leading the software, network, and hardware engineering teams. Prior to their time at Packet, they served as the VP of Engineering at DigitalOcean from October 2015 to February 2019, overseeing various product portfolios. Dave (Dizzy) also gained experience as the Director of Platform Engineering at CenturyLink Cloud from April 2015 to October 2015 and as the VP of Engineering at Orchestrate.io (acquired by CenturyLink Cloud) from May 2013 to April 2015. Earlier in their career, they held the position of VP of Engineering at Singly from October 2012 to May 2013 and at Basho Technologies from December 2009 to October 2012. Dave (Dizzy) started their career as a Senior Network Software Engineer at The Hive from August 2007 to November 2009. Throughout their career, Dave Smith has demonstrated strong leadership skills, driving excellence and consistent delivery in engineering teams, and leading successful acquisitions and team growth.

Dave Smith attended the University of West Florida from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems.
