Karl Hollenbeck

Karl Hollenbeck is a Senior Principal Engineer at 3Shape, where a focus is placed on technology strategies for business initiatives, software architecture, and AI. As the Head of the AI Team, Karl has led the development of foundational AI technologies for 3D segmentation, resulting in the creation of 3Shape Automate, a pioneering SaaS web service for 3D generative AI in dentistry. In previous roles, Karl oversaw successful product developments in the scanner technology department and managed a significant EU FP7 research project on industrial metrology. Prior to 3Shape, Karl served as Head of Innovation in the Water Resources Software Department at DHI, with responsibility for the MIKE BASIN simulation software. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Water Resources from DTU and various business management courses from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
