Paolo Di Lorenzo

Head of Product Management at 3SUN

Paolo Di Lorenzo has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Paolo currently holds the position of Head of Product Management at 3Sun since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Silfab Solar Inc. as a Program Manager for Product Development from February 2021 to April 2023.

From October 2014 to January 2022, Paolo worked at TMC as an Employeneur - Project Manager. Paolo was responsible for implementing an "Agile" way of working in internal projects and supported the development of TMC in the nanotechnology and semiconductor industry.

Paolo also served as a Product Manager at Pharos Solar - A DSM and Silfab Solar Joint Venture from May 2020 to July 2021, where they were responsible for the development and implementation of the product roadmap for back-contact photovoltaic modules.

At DSM, Paolo worked as a Product Manager from October 2018 to May 2020, and as a Project Manager in the Advanced Solar department from May 2017 to May 2020. In these roles, they focused on developing the market for conductive backsheets and identifying synergies throughout the value chain.

Previously, Paolo worked at imec as a Project Manager - Technical Project Lead from October 2014 to April 2017. Paolo led projects investigating lithography process window limiters in N10 and N7 technologies.

At ASML, Paolo served as a Metrology Engineer - Defectivity from April 2013 to October 2014. Paolo participated in defectivity projects aimed at the qualification of ASML's products and was involved in test definition, metrology recipe optimization, and data analysis tool development.

Paolo started their career as an Intern at AgustaWestland in 2009, where they provided support to the American-Italian flight technologies team for the experimental AW609 Tilt-rotor project. Paolo gained skills in flight data analysis, software development, and team management during this internship.

Throughout their career, Paolo has demonstrated strong project management, product development, and technical leadership skills in various industries, including solar energy, nanotechnology, and semiconductor.

Paolo Di Lorenzo completed their education at Edinburgh Napier University, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Renewable Energy from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended Politecnico di Milano from 2005 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. Paolo also has additional certifications in Strategic Business Planning from the London School of Business and Finance LSBF, which they obtained in July 2018. In April 2017, they became a Certified Scrum Product Owner® through the Scrum Alliance. Additionally, Paolo holds a PRINCE2® Foundation Certificate in Project Management from Axilos, which they obtained in April 2015.

3SUN is the largest Italian Photovoltaic Factory, intended to compete with the most important European and worldwide companies in this sector. An Industrial Project born from the joint venture agreement between Enel Green Power (ENEL Group Company, dedicated to the development and management of activities related to renewable energy at an international level), Sharp Corporation (Japanese giant pioneering in photovoltaic, creator of the unique triple-junction thin film technology) and STMicroelectronics (pioneering company in microelectronics, owner of the Industrial Site where the Company is located), who combined their outstanding technical skills gained from experiences of absolute excellence in their respective sectors. A new and important challenge in the renewable energy sector, with significant implications for employment in Sicily. Multi-junction thin film photovoltaic panels will be produced in the innovative Plant, located in Catania Industrial Area, with an initial production capacity in 2011 equal to 160 MW/year and intended to increase in the coming years. 3SUN will produce multi-junction, thin-film photovoltaic cells and modules. The Business Strategy of the Joint Venture provides the sale of the manufactured photovoltaic modules through the main sales channels, represented by shareholders and their affiliates.
