Andrew Lane has a wealth of experience in the medical and robotic engineering fields. Andrew began their career in 2010 as a Product Development Engineer at TransEnterix, Inc., where they were responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing instruments and subsystems for a laparoscopic surgical robot. Andrew was also the technical lead for TransEnterix on the SurgiBot Flexible Vessel Sealer, a collaborative project between TransEnterix and Microline Surgical. Lane then took on the role of Product Test Engineer at TransEnterix where they worked on the SPIDER single-port Laparoscopic device and compatible instruments. Andrew was involved in product performance specification development, test fixture design, statistical analysis of test results, and coordination with outside test houses for sterilization, biocompatibility, transit, and aging studies. In 2016, Lane moved to 410 Medical as the Director of R&D, followed by R&D Manager, and then Senior Design Engineer.
Andrew Lane received a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science - Biomedical Engineering with a Physics Minor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007.
