Simon Vergauwen has been working in software engineering since 2015. In 2013, they were an intern at them° altima° group. In 2014, they were a Teacher at BijlesHuis. In 2015, they started working as an Android Developer at AppFoundry. In 2016, they worked as an Android Developer at VRT. In 2017, they were an Android Developer at Philips Lighting. Since 2019, they have been a Lead Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at 47 Degrees, where they work with Kotlin in all different kinds of areas, creates content and gives training from fundamental Kotlin courses to FP Arrow courses in Kotlin, and develops and maintains the OSS Arrow eco-system.
Simon Vergauwen obtained their High School Degree in Electricity - Electronics from Sint-Jozef Schoten in 2003-2010. Simon then went on to receive their Professional Bachelor in ICT from Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen in 2010-2013. In 2013, they also obtained a Certificate in Basic Chinese - level 1 from Hutong School. Following this, they received their Master of Science (MSc) in Electronics - ICT from KU Leuven in 2013-2015. In 2015, they also obtained a Summerschool Certificate in Automotive Software Engineering from TU Dortmund University. Finally, in October 2015, they obtained an Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 8 Programmer from Oracle.
