Abbas A. Baba

Abbas A. Baba has a diverse work experience, starting in 2006 as a Web Service Developer at NWD STUDIO. Abbas then worked as an IT Specialist at NTEC Specialist & Associates from 2009 to 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they served as a Knowledge Manager at the African Climate Change Research Centre (ACCREC). In 2016, Abbas joined YellowPages & Digital Enterprises as the Head of Operations, where they played a key role in introducing the first e-commerce platform in Borno, aimed at promoting business and helping the region recover from the Boko-Haram crisis. In 2018, they became the Chairman/Publisher at ARITA Media & Publicity. In 2020, Abbas took on the position of Chief Executive at YellowPages & Digital Enterprises. Currently, they are working as an Innovation & Strategy Consultant at Excelerate, starting in 2023. Prior to that, in 2019, they founded Development Hub (DH) and served as the Head of Innovation.

Abbas A. Baba completed their education in the field of Applied Science (Geology) at the University of Maiduguri from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree. Later, they pursued further studies and obtained a Masters of Science (MSc.) degree in Information Technology from the University of Maiduguri from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, Abbas A. Baba has acquired several certifications including "Advertisement - Regulator" from ARCON in June 2022, "Design Thinking - Practitioner" from IBM in April 2020, and "Cities and Climate Change Leadership" from The World Bank in February 2018.
