Hemalatha Jayabal

Hemalatha Jayabal is a KTP Scientist at the University of Cambridge since February 2023, bringing expertise in biomedical engineering. Prior to this role, Hemalatha served as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Southampton from September 2019 to July 2023, focusing on developing tools for assessing skin integrity through biomarkers and physical sensors as part of the EU-funded STINTS project. Hemalatha's experience also includes working as a researcher at Tata Research Development and Design Centre from July 2017 to August 2019, where development of mechanical behavior models for skin and validation of drug delivery systems were key responsibilities. Previous roles include serving as a Teaching Assistant at IIT Bombay and holding the position of Deputy Manager at Coromandel International Limited, showcasing a solid foundation in both academic and industrial settings. Hemalatha’s educational background includes a PhD from the University of Southampton, a Master’s degree from IIT Bombay, and a Bachelor’s degree from Anna University Chennai.
