Dr Avhashoni Zwane

Dr. Avhashoni Zwane began their most recent role as the Director of Molecular Genetics Operations at 54gene in August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the Agricultural Research Council as a Researcher in Animal Breeding and Genetics from January 2013 to July 2022. From February 2009 to December 2012, they were a Research Technician at the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa.

Dr Avhashoni Zwane holds a Master's degree in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. Dr Avhashoni also has a BSc Honours in Biochemistry from the University of Limpopo. In 2014, Dr Zwane obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genome Sciences/Genomics from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, completing their studies in 2018.
