Ran Zhao

Ran Zhao, Ph.D. started their work experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. Ran also worked as a Co-Founder of Vispek in 2017 and as an Amazon Alexa Fund Fellow at Amazon. Later, they held roles at Bloomberg LP, McKinsey & Company, and ultimately transitioning to roles in venture capital and angel investing with IDG Capital, 5Y Capital, and finally founding Onwish in 2023.

Ran Zhao, Ph.D. received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2012, followed by a Master's degree from Yale University in 2013. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University, completing their education in 2019. Additionally, in 2016, they obtained a CFA certification from the CFA Institute. Prior to pursuing higher education, they completed their high school education at Beijing No.4 High School from 2004 to 2007.
