Kenny Cheong has a decade of experience in tax and finance roles. Kenny began their career as a Team Manager at Banks Group Pty Ltd, where they managed a team and supported clients with accounts reconciliation and tax computations. Kenny then joined Price Waterhouse Coopers as a Manager, providing financial advice to clients on compliance and taxation matters. Kenny then moved to Australian Unity, where they held various roles including Taxation Manager and Group Senior Tax Manager. In these positions, they led teams and provided strategic tax guidance for mergers and acquisitions, as well as supporting the growth of the Retirement Living portfolio. Most recently, Kenny has been working as the Head of Tax at 7-Eleven Australia, where they successfully rebuilt trust and confidence in the company's financial operations through developing relations with regulatory bodies such as the ATO.
Kenny Cheong holds a Graduate Diploma from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, which they obtained from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy from RMIT University from 1997 to 1999. In 1996, Kenny attended Taylors College, where they completed the South Australian Matriculation program. In addition to their degrees, Kenny has obtained certifications such as being an Associate Member of The Tax Institute and being a current member of the Private Group Stewardship Group at the Australian Taxation Office. Kenny has also been a past member of the Retirement Living Council tax subcommittee at the Property Council of Australia.
