Saswat Kumar Sahoo

Saswat Kumar Sahoo has extensive experience in the field of production technology and pipeline development. Saswat Kumar is currently the Director of Production Technology at 88 Pictures since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Technical Director - Core Pipeline at Framestore from January 2023 to June 2023.

From 2016 to 2022, Saswat held multiple roles at 88 Pictures, including Director of Production Technology and Head of Pipeline Technology. In these positions, they led the Production Engineering and Technical Directors teams, and was responsible for developing the pipeline's back-end, API bindings, and integration with third-party software packages.

Before joining 88 Pictures, Saswat worked at Assemblage Entertainment as a Pipeline Supervisor from August 2015 to August 2016. Saswat Kumar played a key role in designing, developing, and supervising a brand new pipeline with robust asset management and production tracking features.

Prior to that, Saswat worked as a Senior Pipeline Developer at Prime Focus World from October 2014 to August 2015. Saswat Kumar collaborated with the core pipeline development team in London to support the CG departments in Mumbai.

Saswat's career in the animation industry began at DreamWorks Animation in 2008, where they served as a Pipeline Technical Director (Lighting) until March 2014. Saswat Kumar then worked as a Pipeline TD at Rhythm & Hues from March 2006 to December 2008, providing technical support and implementing improvements for the digital production pipeline used by hundreds of TDs across multiple locations.

Saswat Kumar Sahoo completed their education with a degree in Information Technology and Management from Utkal University between 2001 and 2004. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2001, they attended Ravenshaw Junior College where they obtained a CHSE degree with a focus on Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Statistics, and Electronics. Their earlier education from 1988 to 1998 was at Cambridge School, where they completed their ICSE degree in various subjects.
