Clayton Piatt

Clayton Piatt has a strong background in optimization engineering and renewable energy research. Clayton started their career as a Longboard Designer and Builder while self-employed from 2009 to 2014. Clayton then worked as a Researcher for Power for All, where they conducted policy research and technology evaluations for off-grid renewable energy systems. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Performance Engineer and later as a Senior Optimization Engineer at Cypress Creek Renewables. In 2019, Clayton joined Avantus as a Manager in Optimization Engineering and quickly progressed to roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Manager, Director, and finally to their current position as Sr. Director. Clayton's expertise lies in optimization engineering, energy policy research, data analysis, and renewable energy systems.

Clayton Piatt completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physics at Sonoma State University from 2011 to 2015. Clayton then pursued a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley College of Engineering from 2015 to 2016.
