Spencer Li

Spencer Li is currently serving as the Vice President of Project and Corporate Finance at Avantus since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Origis Energy as the Director of Project Finance from November 2017 to October 2021. In this role, they led the finance team and managed all stages of tax equity and project financings. Before that, Spencer worked at Sempra Energy, where they held the positions of Manager of Project Finance - Treasury from December 2014 to November 2017 and Principal Finance Analyst - Corporate Finance Treasury from April 2011 to December 2014. At Sempra Energy, they managed various complex domestic and international project financings and provided financial advisory services. Spencer also had experience in the energy sector as a Manager of Strategy Development at UGI Utilities, Inc. from September 2009 to April 2011. Additionally, Spencer gained valuable experience as an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Wachovia Securities in 2008. Spencer began their career as a Field Sales Engineer and later as an Application Engineer at National Instruments from 2004 to 2007. Spencer also has experience as a Business Analyst Intern at Caterpillar Financial from May 2002 to August 2003.

Spencer Li obtained their MBA degree in Finance and Leadership from Emory University - Goizueta Business School, where they studied from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from 2000 to 2004.
