Dian Prestwich, PhD has over 20 years of experience in the education field. Dian worked as a Classroom Teacher and Literacy Coach in Adams County School District 14 before working with Colorado Department of Education as an Assistant Director where they co-led the implementation of the READ Act. Dian also worked as an Instructional Consultant, Adjunct Professor, and Trainer of Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) at different institutions. Dian has been an Associate Teaching Professor at The University of Kansas since 2016. Dian provided on-site consultation for the federal Preschool Development grant at Montana Office of Public Instruction. Currently, they are working as a Consultant at 95 Percent Group LLC, providing professional development and coaching to teachers and reading coaches in schools and districts.
Dian Prestwich, PhD earned a BA in Education from Northwestern State University in the years 1991 to 1995. From 2001 to 2003, they pursued an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Reading & Writing from Lesley University. Their most recent educational achievement was earning a PhD in Education specializing in Early Childhood from Walden University, which they completed between 2006 and 2012.
