Colleen Shikany

Colleen Shikany is a research associate at A-Alpha Bio. Colleen previously worked as an undergraduate research assistant at Seattle Children's from September 2018 to December 2020. In this role, they gained significant experience in many molecular biology techniques, including electrophysiology slice experiments, behavior experiments, DNA extraction and purification, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, tissue slicing via cryostat, mouse handling (breeding, weaning, histology), microscopy, and academic writing. Colleen also gained experience in basic skills such as pipetting, reagent preparation, cleaning glassware, and maintaining a well-organized lab notebook. In addition, Colleen has gained great experience working in a research team to achieve common goals.

Colleen Shikany received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington.

They are on a team with Shyam Gandhi - Research Associate, Kendreick Herbst - Research Associate, and Cami Cordray - Lab Operations Manager. Their manager is Ryan Swanson, Senior Director of Biologics R&D.
