Heather Rose McDonald

Heather Rose McDonald has a diverse work experience in the fashion industry, with a focus on knitwear design. Heather Rose is currently working as the Design Director of Knitwear at A.L.C. since February 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Knitwear Designer at Jonathan Simkhai from January 2022 to February 2023. Heather also worked as a Freelance Knitwear Designer at Rebecca Taylor from December 2020 to December 2021. Heather Rose previously held the position of Senior Knitwear Designer at Jonathan Simkhai from November 2015 to March 2019.

In addition to their roles in fashion design, Heather also has experience in knit design and coordination. Heather Rose worked as a Knit Designer at Eugenia Kim from October 2014 to October 2015, where they were responsible for design, product development, and pre-production of hand-knit and machine-knit products. Prior to that, they worked as a Design Assistant at Yigal Azrouël, Inc. from June 2013 to March 2014 and as a Design/Knitwear Assistant at VPL from December 2011 to February 2012.

Before entering the fashion industry, Heather worked as a Project Coordinator at Tarpon Energy Services Ltd from 2006 to 2009. Overall, Heather Rose McDonald brings a wealth of experience and expertise in knitwear design to their current role at A.L.C.

Heather Rose McDonald pursued their education in a chronological manner. From 2001 to 2004, they attended the University of Toronto Mississauga, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree. Heather Rose'sfield of study included Biology (General) and Anthropology. Continuing their academic journey, they then enrolled in the Academy of Art University from 2009 to 2013. There, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Fashion/Apparel Design, specializing in Knitwear.
