Maija Koski

Maija Koski has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Maija has held various roles in media and journalism organizations. Maija has worked as a Director of Content, Editor in Chief, and Head of Content at A-lehdet Oy, where they were responsible for journalism, e-commerce, and leading different publications. Prior to that, they served as an Editor in Chief at Vauva and Meidän Perhe, Finland's largest parenting magazines, and played a crucial role in transforming them into digital platforms. Maija has also been involved in national strategies related to children and worked in the development group of Child Fair at Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre. Additionally, they have experience working as a Managing Editor at Me Naiset, where they focused on digital development, and as a Journalist at Ilta-Sanomat, where they held several positions in different departments. Maija has also worked as a Freelance Author, Journalist, and Editor, contributing to various magazines. Maija began their career as a Summer Reporter at Itä-Häme and later worked as a Teacher at the Helsinki Media Arts Upper Secondary School. Maija Koski has a diverse educational background in journalism and media studies. From 1996 to 2001, they attended the University of Helsinki and obtained a Master's degree in political science, specializing in media and communication studies, comparative literature, and Finnish language. In 1998, they spent a year at Stockholm University focusing on journalism. Maija also attended the University of Tampere from 1995 to 1996, studying comparative literature and journalism. In 2013, they were a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, where they further enhanced their knowledge of journalism. Additionally, in November 2019, they obtained the SAVE – Sanoman valmentava esimies certification from Sanoma Akatemia / Talent Vectia.
