Joe LeBlanc, CSP has been in the safety engineering field for over 30 years. Joe began their career in 1989 as a Safety Engineer for Lockheed Space Operations Company, where they were a member of the KSC Electrical Classification Compliance Working Group, the KSC Facility Fire Protection Review Team, and the KSC Lightning Protection Working Group. Joe also established safety criteria for special tests and evaluated safety impact of proposed changes and modifications.
In 1994, Joe moved to SRS Technologies as a Senior Safety Engineer. In this role, they supervised the updating of all printed material for SRS Safety Workshop courses and was the lead instructor for SRS Safety Workshops. Joe also developed and maintained presentation material, student guides/handouts, and CD-ROMS for the Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification training courses. Joe was also the project manager for Accident Risk Assessments of the Solid Motor Assembly and Ready Facility (SMARF) and Centaur Processing Facility (CPF).
In 2002, Joe joined ManTech as a Principal Engineer, where they provided safety analyses and risk assessments for launch/processing operations and NASA/KSC laboratory procedures/tests/operations. Joe also interpreted applicable standards, specifications, and requirements to ensure compliance and alleviate risks to personnel, equipment and facilities. In 2018, Joe joined APT (A-P-T Research, Inc.) as a Senior Safety Engineer.
Joe LeBlanc, CSP attended Moss Point High School from 1979 to 1982, where they obtained their Diploma. Joe then attended Mississippi State University from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained their BS in Electrical Engineering. In December 1995, they obtained their Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
