Jose Urrutia

Jose Urrutia is a seasoned engineer currently serving as a Mission Assurance Engineer at APT Research, Inc. since April 2022, where responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments to evaluate the safety and risk levels of mission launches, along with identifying potential risks related to propulsion, avionics, and ordnance. Urrutia has also held positions at Bechtel Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer and Junior Pipe and Valve Engineer, contributing to the NASA ML-2 Launcher project. Previous experience includes working as a Mechanical Engineer at Republic Metals Corporation, where water piping diagrams for a refinery were created, and conducting mechanical and electrical problem analyses. Additionally, Urrutia designed aviation tooling at Skytech Aviation, utilizing CAD software and performing engineering analyses on various components. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering was earned from Florida Atlantic University between 2014 and 2017.
