Kimberly Smith

Assistant Director, Pgh FACE & Staff Training at A Second Chance

Kimberly Smith is an Assistant Director at A Second Chance, Inc., who oversees Pittsburgh F.A.C.E. and Staff Training. The F.A.C.E. department provides training, culturally responsive support and trauma services for members of the kinship triad (kinship caregivers, birth parents and children/youth) and for the community. Staff training focuses on equipping new and current staff of ASCI with the necessary tools to be efficient in their specific roles as well as with their Kinship families. Staff are taught the policies and procedures of the agency so that they can ensure the safety, wellbeing, and permanency of the families that we serve. Staff are provided with the tools to be effective in their prospective roles.

Smith believes that training is the foundation for growth and development. With proper training, the triad, staff, and community can receive the necessary tools needed to succeed personally, emotionally, mentally, and professionally.
