A Step Up Academy
Evander Smith has experience working in operations coordination, diversity and equity, and as an administrative assistant. They also served as a mentor at Ruttenberg Autism Center, and as a digital fabrications lab assistant at Arcadia University. Additionally, they were an instructor at Lavner Camps, teaching topics such as 3D Printing/Design and Fashion Design. Evander holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Fabrications/3D Fabrications from Arcadia University.

A Step Up Academy
A Step Up Academy is a private, not-for-profit school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder from Preschool through 8th grade. “A Step Up Academy prepares students to become engaged participants in society by developing innovative academic, social, emotional, and behavioral programming as well as impactful community partnerships.” Grounded in evidence-based practices with a focus on targeting the fundamental areas of communication, we work with students, families, school districts and communities to place children back into a fully inclusive environment. Our focus is to serve the growing population of young children on the autism spectrum that have significant developmental delays, speech and language difficulties, and moderate behaviors that are associated with the diagnosis. We serve children in preschool through fourth grade. A Step Up Academy targets cognitive, academic, social, sensory, and motor development, as well as adaptive and problem behaviors that interfere with learning. We offer in-house speech & language and occupational therapies.
