A Step Up Academy
Ryan Schwendiman is currently a Behavior Specialist at A Step Up Academy, where Ryan has been working since September 2019. Prior to this role, Ryan served as a Therapeutic Staff Support at U.S. Medical Staffing Inc from January 2019 to September 2019. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis at Florida Institute of Technology.
A Step Up Academy
A Step Up Academy is a private, not-for-profit school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder from Preschool through 8th grade. “A Step Up Academy prepares students to become engaged participants in society by developing innovative academic, social, emotional, and behavioral programming as well as impactful community partnerships.” Grounded in evidence-based practices with a focus on targeting the fundamental areas of communication, we work with students, families, school districts and communities to place children back into a fully inclusive environment. Our focus is to serve the growing population of young children on the autism spectrum that have significant developmental delays, speech and language difficulties, and moderate behaviors that are associated with the diagnosis. We serve children in preschool through fourth grade. A Step Up Academy targets cognitive, academic, social, sensory, and motor development, as well as adaptive and problem behaviors that interfere with learning. We offer in-house speech & language and occupational therapies.
