Process Development Engineer at A2 Biotherapeutics

Meghan McRae has a diverse work experience. Meghan started their career as a Server at BJ's Restaurants, Inc. in 2009, where they provided excellent customer service and communicated effectively with the kitchen staff. In 2016, they joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Scientist I in the R&D DNA Reagent Development Team, where they utilized recombinant DNA techniques for the development and troubleshooting of HLA gene typing products. Meghan also performed protein purification as part of the Manufacturing Sciences team. From 2018 to 2022, Meghan worked at Atara Biotherapeutics, first as a Quality Control Associate in the Bioassay Group, conducting bioanalytical assays and coordinating cell culture activities, and later as a Senior Quality Control Associate in the QC Method Validation Team, managing validation projects and timelines. Most recently, they joined Instil Bio in 2021 as a Process Engineer, responsible for early-stage process development, authoring study protocols, executing process development studies, and presenting results to colleagues and senior leadership. In 2022, they transitioned to A2 Biotherapeutics, Inc. as a Process Development Engineer.

Meghan McRae's education history begins with their high school education at Paraclete High School from 2005 to 2009. After completing high school, they continued their education at Antelope Valley College from 2009 to 2011, majoring in Biology, General. Meghan then transferred to California State University, Northridge, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from 2011 to 2014. Alongside their main degree, they also completed a minor in Chemistry during the same period.

To further advance their knowledge and skills, Meghan pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biotechnology at The Johns Hopkins University from 2020 to 2021. Additionally, they obtained the certification "Project Management Foundations" from LinkedIn in October 2022.
