Thanh Tran

Thanh Tran is the Co-CEO at A5 Labs. Thanh was previously the Advisor to the CEO at A5 Labs from October 2019 to January 2021. Thanh Tran was also the VP of Engineering (Head of Data Science & Infrastructure and Search Engineering) at Upwork from June 2019 to January 2021. At Upwork, they scaled the Data/ML/Science team from 5 to 50+. Thanh was also responsible for running the majority of core marketplace services and was a main partner in all data & ML based funnel optimization efforts.

Thanh Tran earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Thanh also holds a Master's degree in Computer Science - Business Informatics from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, as well as a Master of Commerce in Entrepreneurship and Finance from Macquarie University. Finally, Thanh Tran earned their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General, from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg.
