Edward Keyes

Edward Keyes is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in embedded systems and aerospace technology. Currently serving as Chief Engineer at Stardrive Labs since February 2019, Edward Keyes also works as an Embedded Software Engineer at Astra, focusing on firmware development for Hall-effect thrusters for satellites. Previous roles include System Engineer at Hedron, where Edward Keyes contributed to inter-satellite communication systems, and Technical Consultant positions at LTA Research and Exploration and Loon, both centered on high-altitude balloon projects. Edward Keyes's lengthy tenure at Google spanned over a decade, with contributions to Project Loon and leadership roles in laser communications and various software engineering teams. Edward Keyes holds a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
