Alyse Plattos, MPH, has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles. Alyse is currently working as a Program Manager for Lead Exposure at the American Academy of Pediatrics, where they manage the implementation of a project and coordinates the production of lead training videos. Prior to this, Alyse worked at the Fox Valley United Way as the Director of Communications and later as a Consultant. At the Kane County, Illinois, they served as the Community Health Initiatives Coordinator, promoting individual and population health through health promotion and education initiatives. Alyse also gained experience as an Intern at the Village of Oak Lawn's Emergency Management Agency, where they worked on grant writing and disaster preparedness and mitigation. Additionally, Alyse has interned at the World Health Organization and served as a Graduate Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at the Northern Illinois University College of Health and Human Sciences, where they conducted research and assisted professors and advisors in various tasks. Alyse Plattos, MPH has a diverse education history. Alyse completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Biology, General at Illinois State University from 2006 to 2011. Alyse then pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a focus on Health Promotion at Northern Illinois University, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. In addition, Alyse obtained a Certificate of Graduate Study in Homeland Security from Northern Illinois University, specializing in this field from 2011 to 2013. Notably, they also completed their high school education at Yorkville High School from 2002 to 2006.
Alyse has further enhanced their education with multiple certifications. Alyse completed a variety of certifications related to emergency management and hazard mitigation, such as IS-393.a Introduction to Hazard Mitigation, IS-702.a NIMS Public Information Systems, ICS 300, ICS 400, and IS-701.a NIMS Multiagency Coordination System (MACS), all obtained from FEMA in 2015. Additionally, they obtained the Illinois Professional Development Series certification from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency in the same year. Alyse has also pursued online certifications, including Effective Listening from LinkedIn and Effective Communication for Program and Project Stakeholders and Teams from edX, both obtained in 2021.
