Mary Claire Walsh, MS has over 30 years of work experience in digital communications and online strategy. Mary Claire worked at the American Academy of Pediatrics from 1987 to 2000 as Manager of Public Education, where they managed public education initiatives. From 2001 to 2006, they worked at SpineUniverse as a Staff Writer and then as Director of Professional Content Development. Starting in 2002, they became a self-employed Project Management Consultant, Editor, and Writer until 2009. Mary Claire then returned to the American Academy of Pediatrics as the Managing Editor of HealthyChildren.org and AAP.org, overseeing editorial content and site maintenance. From 2014 onwards, they assumed the role of Director of Digital Communications and Online Strategy at the American Academy of Pediatrics, leading the development and enhancement of digital tools, web properties, and public awareness campaigns.

Mary Claire Walsh earned a BA in Sociology and Women's Studies from DePaul University. Mary Claire then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) degree in Health Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
