Stephanie K. Firestone currently serves as the Senior Strategic Policy Advisor for Health and Age-friendly Communities in International Affairs at AARP, a position held since January 2017. Previously, Firestone was a Fellow in the Health & Aging Policy Fellowship program from October 2015 to November 2016 and held the role of Director of Livable Communities at the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging from August 2013 to October 2016. Firestone has extensive experience as a consultant and facilitator in livable communities, and has held various leadership positions in environmental initiatives and planning, including serving as the Founding Executive Director of LINK to the Environment and Director of Sustainable Development for the Israel Ministry of Environment. Firestone's educational background includes a Master of Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from SUNY Empire State College.
