Bruce D. Roth

Scientific Advisory Board Member at Aarvik Therapeutics

Bruce has over 35 years of pharma and biopharmaceutical experience, including roles as VP Chemistry at Parke-Davis, Pfizer and Genentech. In 2014, he was appointed SVP Genentech Small Molecule Drug Discovery. After retiring, in 2018 Bruce founded his own consulting agency. He is a member of SABs for several biopharmaceutical companies and is a Senior Advisor for Frazier Healthcare Partners. Bruce is best known as the inventor of Lipitor®, for which he has received numerous awards, including the 2013 Perkin Medal, the highest award given to industrial chemists in the United States. Bruce has also been named an American Chemical Society (ACS) Hero of Chemistry and has been inducted into the ACS Medicinal Chemistry Division Hall of Fame. Bruce received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Iowa State University and was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Rochester.
